Job Description

Life in the fast lane

As our Accounts Coordinator, you will be joining the Finance team who make up part of the Business Services Department.  

This is a part time position, based at our Head Office in St Kilda for a 3-month fixed term contract working 22.8 hours per week (0.6 FTE).

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the efficient, accurate, and timely processing of all creditor transactions, ensuring the Australian Grand Prix Corporation’s (AGPC) financial obligations are met. This role manages the full lifecycle of Accounts Payable, optimizes cash flow through diligent credit control, and ensures rigorous compliance with Victorian financial legislation.

Additionally, you will:

  • Effectively and consistently complete and manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable function at the Corporation within the defined timeframes.
  • Process all creditor invoices and weekly payment runs efficiently and accurately as well as answering invoice queries from internal and external stakeholders;
  • Complete ad hoc payments, domestic and international;
  • Ensure accounts payable processes comply with the Corporation's policies and delegation authority limits;
  • Administer the corporate card, Cabcharge, and/or Uber programs, ensuring rigorous monthly reconciliation;
  • Maintain the Creditor/Supplier/Vendor Masterfile, verifying bank details and contact information to prevent fraud.
  • Prepare accounts payable reports in a timely manner;
  • Assist in daily bank reconciliations;

 

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and substantive experience in accounts payable, or similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, apply sound judgement and contribute to effective financial operations.
  • Well-developed time management and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines and strong administrative skills.
  • Highly developed organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to support the finance team and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in mid-to-large scale ERP accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience within Victorian State Government, major projects and / or event management delivery desirable.
  • A current Police Check and Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee), or be willing to obtain.
